Yesterday was a roller coaster day. Although Jim was off the vent, I was concerned about his mental state. He was laying with his eyes closed & not communicating well. He would either forget he was talking or fall asleep in mid sentence. Then he was transferred to Telementry - a cardiac unit for monitoring his heart - about 2:30 in the afternoon. They said his heart was fine, just not ready to be off all monitors.
Around 4 he was in some respiratory distress. His oxygen level was dropping below 90% & he was requiring almost constant suctioning. He did not look good. They ended up transferring him back to the same room in ICU & he is back on the vent. His temp was over 102 again last night.
When I saw him at 8pm he looked much better; said he was tired & just wanted to sleep. AND - he thanked me for being there! As I told him, "Where else would I possibly be?".
Now I am thinking he needs his lungs cleaned out again, by bronchoscopy. There is so much gunk there & it is like glue. It is such hard work for him to breathe on his own & keep up with his secretions.
I had a visit from a Nurse from Promise Speciality Hospital on 7th Ave. & Buckeye, most likely where Jim will go next. But his nurse said yesterday after he was transferred back to ICU, there will probably be some reluctance to to transfer him again due to the bad experience yesterday. He requires more care than can be handled on a step-down or regular floor.
Pray for: Resolution of the lung problem & the temperature. Continued strength & God's peace. God is Faithful & True. There is none like Him in all creation. I praise Him who died for me & Who loves me and Jim with an everlasting love.

Hello Jim and Marilyn,
We are in the Sequoia National Park area. We will be going to see the beautiful redwoods that live in this area, some of them were around when our Lord Jesus walked this earth. As we observe God’s wonderful creation today we will be thinking and praying for both of you. As He is gloried in His awesome creation may He be gloried in your lives as well.
In Him,

Jim and Marilyn,
We have been away for a couple of weeks. In our travel we heard of Jim’s accident. Please know you are both in our prayers and more importantly, you are both in His hands. Blessings as you walk in Him in these days.

Marilyn,
Belinda told me of your husband’s accident soon after it happened and my heart just ached for you and your husband and family. I have pondered a lot over the past two weeks on what to do or what to say. I know that you are a very strong person and you have a strong relationship with the Lord. That has been evident in many of our conversations and many uplifting emails you have sent. You and your family are in our prayers. I know if anyone can get through this and be an inspiration to others, it is you and your husband. I just heard about this blog today, so I will be checking in daily and praying for your family.

Jim and Marilyn,
Sorry that I haven’t responded yet but I have been keeping tabs both through Monika and the blog. You have been in our thoughts and prayers since this whole thing happened. We will be continuing to pray for you all. Jim, we will be praying for you spacifically that you would continue to gain strength and not to be down hearted in any circumstances that arise but that you will remember the Lord’s grace and love poured out for you.
Love,
The Walters
