Only time for a quick note today.
Jim got a new mattress that alternates pressure points. This should help with the areas of breakdown.
The fevers continue. They will put in a PEG tube today for feeding - see previous entires - and do a bronchoscopy at the same time. They hope to be able to get a sample of the fluids deep in his lungs to culture. He also had another CT scan of the lungs last night.
Jim slept all day yesterday & when I would awake him, he was disoriented & confused at times. I am not sure what to make of this, but will ask the docs today if I get a chance to grab them. Monika & I sat in Jim's room from 9:45 yesterday morning until 9:30 last night with a lunch & dinner break. Jim was not awake more than 45 to 60 minutes at the most the whole day & when awake, not always alert.
Pray for me, please. I am tired & weepy today. Pray they can get to the bottom of the fevers, that Jim is not confused, that healing continues.
NOTHING means as much to us as the prayers you lift up. We are nearing the three week mark & sometimes this is still like a bad dream. Your prayers - and mine - keep me focused on God & His work & His will & His peace.

Praise God for the new mattress! My prayers for you will be that you will get some much-needed rest. (Can someone stay with Jim all day at least once so that you can have a time to rest?) I will continue to pray for Jim that his fever will stop and that he will heal. God bless you both.

Marilyn,
I have not read the blog for several days and was glad to get the update on Jim. I have been praying but I need to read your blog everyday so I can be pray for Jim and your needs for each day. I know God is carrying you but I also know that you get so weary. I pray so much for strength for you and your whole family. You are on my community group’s prayer list at church and well as several other prayer lists.

Marilyn, I’m Jim’s cousin from Nebraska,Jeff notified us.
Jim is in Sharon and my prayers.By reading your blog I see you have deep faith.Jim’s mom Nadine and Grandma Henrietta were very religious Jim can attest to that.I’m sure they are both watching over him.We are living on the farm Nadine grew up on.I have many fond memories of the Hersey visits here. Our aunt Delores gave me all her slides before she died, I have scanned some of us cousins I could e-mail if Jim would like to see them. You can e-mail us at crcorn@megavision.com with an e-mail address to send pic to.
I hope the fever drops so he can heal.
May God bless you both.Hang in there
