First, Chris your friend is so right - It it the Faithfulness of God not anything we do! Thank you.
Jim was up in the Cadillac Chair again yesterday for 2 hours & they rigged everything so he could be pushed outside his room to the doorwy. That was good for him to see something besides the three walls usually visible to him. He coughed, again with my help, almost the entire time. While that is good for him, it literally wears me out! I spent the morning with him, son Michael spent the afternoon. Michael reported he was not able to swallow for the Speech Therapist; not ice cubes or yogurt either. While she said some good days, some not so good, it concerns me. The mechanism of swallowing works, but the "food" sticks in the area (epiglottis) where the throat divides into the esophagus & the trachea. Improper working of this area can cause the liquid to drip into the lungs. When that happens that is called aspirating.
Also found out the Neurosurgeon will not come to see him at Promise, so we will have to arrange transport & take him there. Very disappointing! But we will do whatever necessary to get this darn collar off!
I want to let you know that since Sunday there have been no instances of my hearing Jim calling me in my sleep! Thank you for praying & thank you , Father, for hearing our prayers & answering them. I slept until 6 today! Praise God!
Our needs remain the same: Cough, swallowing, temp, spasms, strength for me, patience for Jim.
We remain firm in our Faith, in our belief that nothing happens to us that God cannot use to bring Glory to Himself. Example: Jim's CNA (Nursing Assistant) on Sunday, Connie: Jim asked her if the cross around her neck was pretty jewelry or a sign of a relationship with Jesus. She said it was a sign, that she was a firm Believer. Jim told her he was where he was, in the condition he is in, that God would use him to share what God has done in his life. Then he asked her if there was anything we could pray for in her life. She spent a few minutes talking to us about her son, Frederick, who is 19 & has no direction in his life. She said he is a good kid, smart, but is at a crossroad in his life. Please pray for Frederick, that God would touch him & guide him to make the right decisions for his future & give him courage to do the right thing, not the world's way.
This is what it is really all about:That no matter where we are, what we are doing, how impossible our circumstances, that we remember we have a God of impossibilities who loves us, who sent His Son to die for us that we might be free in Him & bring Honor & Glory to Him! IT IS NOT ABOUT US!
Matt 17:20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Mark 10:27 But Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible , but not with God; for with God all things are possible."
Luke 1:37 For with God nothing will be impossible ."
Luke 18:27 But He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."
Gen 18:14 Is anything too hard for the LORD?
Jer 32:17 'Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
Jer 32:27 "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?

Dearest Friends, As each day and night comes and passes, I am sending arrow prayers to our father in your behalf. when God wakes me in the night, I pray for each specific need in your lives. God in His mercy will continue to be with you both. we love you so much. i have been out of town for a week with my Texas Friend. She is also praying for you and remembers our wonderful Bible Sudy Class that Marilyn taught at Skyline when she visited last year. We have been friends for 37 years. Jim blessed me so many times teaching his class at Skyline. You are right. All of this is not about us. God must be up to something only He can do and receive the glory for doing. We paitienty, though with difficulty at times, wait for His work to be done. Clyde is preaching almost every sunday this summer in churches when the pastor is gone. He leaves for ARK on Thursday to present Picking Up The Pieces for singles and Growth Coaching for the Family at an Assembly of God church in Camden. He is so thankful for the opportunities that God still gives him to preach and teach from the Word. We will be over soon! We love you both so much! Cathy and Clyde
