It is early of this day, not yet time to go to the hospital. As his wife my thoughts are always with Jim - did he rest last night? Is he in pain? What thoughts fill his mind as he lays there? Knowing Jim as I do, I believe his thoughts are with me, with all his children - mine & his, for he loves my kids as his own, with Miles & the house he was so proud of, but I believe his thoughts are primarily with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. He loves having Scripture read to him. Please pray for Jim to have the "Peace that passes all understanding" and the same for me.
Hopefully he gets the trach today, allowing him to more clearly communicate with us. He will not be able to speak, but he will be able to form the words with both lips, without the tube obstructing our vision. They had planned, without discussing yet with me or Jim, to insert a PEG tube at the same time sa the trach. I asked the doctor to hold off on this & allow Jim to make that decision. A PEG is a tube that passes thru the skin into the stomach & tube feeding will be put through it, eliminating the two tubes in his nose.
I do not want the doctors to forget that Jim's mind is alert & well & he is capable of making his own healthcare decisions. It has been suggested that when he is no longer acute that he be transferred to St. Joe's Spinal Rehab Unit.
These are difficult times but our God is in control & I rest in that knowledge.

Marilyn:there isnt a day that goes by that i dont pray for you and your family.just want you to know Sasha,Shawn and I love you and your family.

hi everyone l have been thinking about all of you. you all are in my prayers …..joey l just want to say l love you and if you need anything l can do, just let me know and jim and michael love you guys. tell your dad hi for and give him a kiss from all of us .
