Jim gets his trach today at 10am. He is wanting this so bad, as we all are. Yesterday he had a Greenfield Filter put in. This is a device in the Vena Cava that filters any blood clots from his legs from travelling to any vital organs. He did pretty good, but was a bit distressed when he retirned to his room.
WHAT THE DOCTORS ARE SAYING: This is at this time a temporary trach. If he needs one long term it can easily be replaced with a permanent one. One said he did not expect Jim to be able to get off the respirator because the phrenic nerve which plays an important role in breathing, is involved. He also explained to us in detail the injury, the mechanics of the injury & the surgery.
Jim's long-time friend & spiritual Mentor, David Maddox, visited us last evening. What a blessing & encouragement he is! Jim was so blessed by his visit. Of all David said to Jim & I , the most important was this: What is God saying? He encouraged Jim to spend his time praying & to listen to God. Jim's response was: God's timing is perfect. As David also said, if Jim's purpose was fulfilled, he would have died right then, in the accident. Jim got this immediately.
PRAYER NEEDS:
St. Joe's is the best facility in the valley for Jim. Our insurance is not contracted with them. Pray they would agree for him to go there, that St Joe's would accept him at network rates. If not, that we could afford the out of network rates.
Jim has to be non-ventilator dependant to go to any rehab facility. He also must be able to tolerate three hours of therapy per day. Of course, he is not near ready now, but time will improve that. He is still what they consider Acute.
Pray the trach goes well today.
Pray for Jim to have patience when we are spelling words.
Pray for me to have physical strength. I am getting tired & not sleeping as I would like.
Pray that God is glorified through all this. That is how Jim & I would pray each morning: That no matter what we do each day that we not forget Who we represent & that our lives would bring honor & glory to the Father. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO PRAY FOR. Jim & I have complete confidence in our Lord & Savior. We know there are no surprises for Him.

Jim,
We are all praying for you and watching your progress. We have been up a couple times but have not been able to see you yet, hopefully soon. You have a lot of our off-road community praying for you also and sending their well wishes. we love you both and miss you lots.

So often when tragic things happen in our live we blame God instead of give Him the Glory.
Jim was spared his life is valuable to God but there is still more for Jim to do. God has his timming and gifts. We don’t know yet what He has in store but He does not give us anything He does not want us to use. (what we consider both good and bad)
We Pray for Your Family and the struggles that you are and will be facing I can’t imagine what they are and don’t wish for you to think we understand. but we are here and wish to be prayer warriors with you.

I too have been following your progress through 4×4Him/Kreation Krawlers. Along with everyone else I am praying for you and your family. It’s very hard to understand what His plans are but even in trying times it is important to stay strong and full of faith. He does everythying for a reason and we must continue to follow His wisdom.
