Many things have happened since I last wrote an entry, so I will try to catch up. I had received a commenet from someone & I thought it was another poerson with the same name I had spoken to so I did not answer right away. Making a long story shorter, it was a different person who heard of us through the EVBC newsletter & she works for Long Term Care. We mwt one evening & she spent 2 hours walking through the eligibility requirements & process of applying. It appears Jim will qualify for LTC. Whay a blessing and answer to prayer! I have just about completed the paperwork, Jim's truck has sold, and I will be contacting them for an interview.
This comes none to soon as I learned last week that my - our - health insurance will end in 5 months, around January 22. We will not be able to survive long financially without health insurance. I will be OK, but Jim has to have coverage. Due to down-sizing in our office, I will be the only employee with the insurance & they no longer insure groups with only one participating employee. They give us 6 months from the date of dropping to one employee. As poor as the coverage is, it is definitely better than nothing. On the same line of thought, we received an EOB - explanation of benefits - from the insurance for Jim's care at Promise & according to the insurance we will owe Promise over $9000. His care there was over $200,000. We have not even received the EOB for Rehab yet. It appears Jm's care in the three hospitals will be over 1/2 million dollars when all is said & done.
I have received final notice from my attorney. He had another attorney he respects who does a lot of these types of cases review Jim's file. There is not a case to make about roadway obstruction because of the "idiocy" of the act of the other party - their words, not mine. Because she cleared Jim's lane and then made a u-turn, there is no case that her vision was obstructed by the bushes & trees there. It was when she made the u-turn that she again entered Jim's lane, causing him to hit her. I have full confidence in my attorney & will not be going elsewhere. We expected this to be the case, so it is rather anti-climactic.
Now, about Jim. He has really been withdrawn the last two weeks, not talking much, not much interest in anything, certainly not laughing or joking. He has made some comments that he may be alive but he is really dead. Selling his truck, talking about selling the house & his trailer & tools, these conversations are really hard on him. He will make efforts if someone comes to visit, but then he refverts back in fatigue to his sad state. To me he just looks sad. Please pray for this sadness & depreassion to lift. Pray Jim will find some worth as he is, not as he wants to be or remembers as he was.
Physically, he is about the same. Still coughing a lot, spasms, pain in the shoulders, and the skin problems. We had to shave his mustache off- first time in 40 years. We are trying to let it grow back, but the infection seems to come backe as the hair regrows. I am trwqating the infection in hopes he can keep a bit of mustache & look like himself.
We have not forgotten Who is in charge here. We have our own Worship on Sundays with Adrian Rogers & Mel Balckaby, primarily. We also like to listen to the Gaithers. Not as good as going to church, but we do look forward to this.
Pray that my back will hold up. I do have a lot of pain, surprisingly in the upper back. Pray I will not worry & fret over what might be. Pray I will find the right words to say to Jim when he is down that will lift him up.
Thank you for your continued prayer for us.
In Him, Marilyn

Marily-
I’m praying for a quick ALTCS approval for Jim. If you’ve gathered all the paperwork/documentation for Sept. then you’ll need to call tomorrow to register your application. I’d hate to have you spend more time gathering additional documentation for Oct just because you called on Oct 1st instead of Sept 30th.
Please call me if you have any more questions!

Well Hallelujah for the LTC!
We think of you both every single day. Bill asked this morning if I had talked with you and I realized it’s been a couple of weeks. Lot’s going on for us too.
We’ve often thought about coming out for Sunday worship with you, but didn’t know if you would be up to it. We miss that fellowship time with both of you. Jim, you’re still my hero ~ you continue to teach me every single day, in spite of not seeing each other face to face. Your physical condition has no bearing on your knowledge base of the Word of God. You have often challenged me spiritually and mentally, and I miss that. Tell us when, and we would treasure coming out for some Bible study.
God be with you both ~ the source of your strength and the caregiver of your soul.
